Barnum Homes

“It’s important to know the people you are doing business with.”
Kelly Barnum learned early that building on the Pacific County coast leaves no room for shortcuts. A lifelong native, he founded Barnum Homes, LLC in 2004 as a one-man operation. He used real CDX plywood when others used OSB, oversized Douglas fir joists, and cedar trim primed on all six sides. Word spread, and the business grew by reputation.
His wife, Stefaine, joined the business and became the backbone of its operations. Together, they have completed more than 100 custom homes across four counties. “Twenty-two years of building in this climate has taught us a lot of lessons,” says Kelly. “You learn to respect Mother Nature when she’s got a lesson to teach.”
Barnum Homes is a total process builder, handling everything from planning, design, and permitting to excavation, framing, and finished paint and trim. Most work is done in house, with the rest going to local owner-operators whenever possible. “This community has supported us from day one,” says Kelly. “We do everything we can to ensure your hard-earned dollars stay here.” The results last. “Barnum Built homes rarely come up for sale, and I think that speaks to our quality.”
Kelly’s banking relationship runs nearly as deep as his local roots. At 16, he opened his first savings account at what was then Raymond Federal Bank, later Connect Community Bank and now part of Oregon Coast Bank. That account grew into business accounts, mortgages, auto loans, and a preferred-lender relationship for Barnum Homes’ clients. “Knowing my bank rep is a phone call away straight to her cell phone, or a Sunday evening text message when I finally get a chance to sit down and go through numbers, is priceless,” he says.
Looking ahead, Barnum Homes isn’t changing a thing. Kelly still walks every job site, and Stefaine still picks up the phone. “We are going to continue to see our past customers in the grocery store or at a local sporting event and catch up like family,” says Kelly. Oregon Coast Bank is proud to stand behind Barnum Homes and looks forward to helping build Pacific County’s future, one home at a time.
