We work very hard to make sure people can afford what they need. We’re not going to have anyone go without.

When the sewer line in Drew Port’s own home failed, he didn’t want to wait days for a repairman to arrive. So, he fixed it himself. While doing so, he realized there was a gap in the market worth filling. In 2019, Drew founded Port’s Contracting LLC, starting with general construction before pivoting to utility excavation. Today, Port’s offers pipelining, trenchless pipe replacement, and horizontal directional drilling—services no other contractor on the Oregon Coast provides.

Port spent 20 years in the United States Coast Guard with 14 of those years stationed in Oregon, earning the rare distinction of surfman. That same sense of duty shapes how Port’s serves its neighbors. Emergency response has become a cornerstone of the business. “We’ll be there the same day,” says Li Port, Drew’s wife and business partner. “We’re not going to have anyone go without.”

When Port’s needed to quickly purchase the shop they had been leasing, Oregon Coast Bank stepped up. “The owner all of a sudden said we had to buy it or lose it,” says Li. “Oregon Coast Bank got it done for us. We worked with Teresa through all of it and she was a huge help.” That relationship runs deeper than business. When a waterline at Teresa’s home sprung a serious leak on Christmas Day, Port’s was there to fix it, too.

“Connections like that are one of the great things about being on the Coast,” says Li. “You couldn’t have that with a big bank.”

Oregon Coast Bank is proud to stand behind the businesses, families, and veterans who make the Oregon Coast community strong. As Port’s Contracting LLC grows and continues to fill gaps, Oregon Coast Bank looks forward to being right there with them.
