Newport, OR – Oregon Coast Bank (OCB) is pleased to announce the promotion of Dianne Schmidt to Vice President, Commercial Lender Team Lead.
Schmidt joined OCB in July 2020 and has moved quickly through the ranks. She became a Loan Officer in 2021, Branch Manager of OCB’s largest branch in 2023, and was named AVP in 2024 before stepping into her current role in December 2025. Each position built on the last, giving her a comprehensive view of both the lending and operations sides of the bank.
In her new role, Schmidt serves as a key resource to the commercial lending team and plays an important part in managing risk for the bank as a whole. She works alongside Chief Lending Officer Teresa Murray at the top of OCB’s lending portfolio. “The loan experience was a huge part,” she said, “but the operations and deposit side of banking really strengthened my overall understanding of regulations and risk management.”
A valley local by upbringing, Schmidt commutes daily from Blodgett, where she lives with her husband of 34 years. She says Newport has always felt like a natural fit, sharing the close-knit character of the small towns she has always called home. “I have the best co-workers in the world and our customers are exceptional,” she said. “It’s a privilege to work here.” Outside of work, her greatest joy is time spent with her husband, children, and granddaughter.
Oregon Coast Bank is the only bank built by and for people on the coast. It was founded when 115 coastal families pooled their resources to establish a locally owned and operated bank; its assets now exceed $400 million. For decades, OCB has been dedicated to keeping dollars local and helping coastal businesses thrive.
